TEDIRO Healthcare Robotics receives seven-figure investment

TEDIRO Healthcare Robotics GmbH receives a seven-figure investment from TGFS and bm|t to bring its mobile therapy robot THERY to market as a medical device and thus address the shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector.
Leipzig/Ilmenau, August 21, 2024 - TEDIRO Healthcare Robotics GmbH, a Saxon-Thuringian startup, has successfully completed an extended seed financing round and received a seven-figure investment. The financing was led by bm|t beteiligungsmanagement thüringen (bm|t) as lead investor and TGFS Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen. A business angel and the robotics manufacturer MetraLabs GmbH also participated.
With the new round of capital, TEDIRO plans to launch its mobile therapy robot THERY as a medical product on the market. This robot is intended to relieve the burden on therapeutic staff in clinics, especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers. TEDIRO has set itself the goal of revolutionizing therapy in the fields of orthopaedics, neurology and geriatrics by automating repetitive tasks.
The combination of advanced robotics and therapy software in the THERY mobile robot platform has the potential to revolutionize therapy.

THERY, the first MDR-compliant mobile robot for therapeutic applications, is currently undergoing final testing. The team behind TEDIRO, consisting of experts in artificial intelligence and robotics, developed the technology in close cooperation with partners such as the Waldkliniken Eisenberg and the Technical University of Ilmenau. TEDIRO plans to use the fresh capital to launch the robot on the market and carry out tests in clinics.
Sören Schuster, Managing Director of TGFS, and Kevin Reeder, Managing Director of bm|t, both emphasized the potential of the technology to make an important contribution to overcoming the shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector and to fundamentally change therapeutic work.
