These are the winners of the AI Beyond Borders Awards 2022

The winners Ianus Simulation, Signatrix and Hema.to get the opportunity to expand abroad through the prize.

For the first time, the AI Competence Center from Munich, which specializes in artificial intelligence, has awarded a prize. Three AI startups received the "AI Beyond Borders Award" from the Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts Markus Blume at the European AI Summit.

Ianus Simulation landed in first place. The Dortmund-based start-up offers a flow simulation for manufacturers in the plastics, pharmaceutical and food industries. It enables corporate customers to optimize existing processes and avoid design errors. This is intended to help companies save energy and resources. The second prize went to Signatrix. Founded in 2017, the Berlin-based startup has developed an AI that uses security cameras to evaluate what is happening in a retail store. This allows stores to optimize work processes and prevent theft in compliance with data protection laws. The third-place winner is the life science start-up Hema.to. With the help of the Munich-based company's software, medical professionals should be able to analyze blood and make a diagnosis more quickly.

The AI Beyond Borders Awards will enable the winners to expand to Singapore, Southeast Asia or North America. To do so, they will receive six months of expert support from mentors at the AI Competence Center. In addition, the three winners will receive a cash prize totaling 50,000 euros, membership in KI Park Deutschland, and the opportunity to take out loans worth up to 150,000 euros each. Partners of the AI Beyond Borders Awards include AI + Munich, AI.Hamburg, Berlin Partner, Intel Ignite, Startup Network Europe and Transatlantic AI Exchange.
