Flink raises $240 million

The food delivery service has successfully closed its financing round led by the investment company prosus. The start-up has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Rewe Group, which will then exclusively supply Flink with groceries.
Flink is only half a year old, but has long since arrived on the fast food delivery market. Now the startup is raising $240 million. The round is led by private equity firm Prosus, which is part of South African conglomerate Naspers. San Francisco-based investor Bond and Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Capital are also on board.
In addition, Rewe Group is involved in the current round and is entering into a strategic cooperation with Flink: the aim is to "exclusively supply goods", the company writes. "We are convinced that through our financial commitment in the form of a minority stake and the cooperation in the area of merchandise, we can make a decisive contribution to the lasting success of flink and at the same time benefit as REWE Group from the development of the market segment," says CEO of Rewe Group, Lionel Souque. Rewe itself has a delivery service, which, however, only delivers within the next few days after an order has been placed.
Since its inception, Flink has now raised €250 million, with the previous funding round taking place in early March. This raised 43 million euros. At the time, there was an announcement that Flink's service would also be brought to Amsterdam and Paris. France's capital is now on the list, as well as cities in the Netherlands. In Germany, Flink is available in 19 locations.
