The luxury watch start-up Chronext has a notable new member on its board of directors: Gary Briggs spent five years as CMO at Facebook, today he sits on various boards.

The names of Gary Briggs' employers sound like a list of the world's largest corporations: He was CMO at Facebook for five years, and before that always held senior marketing positions at Google, Ebay and Paypal. Now the start-up Chronext has managed to recruit him for its board of directors: "I was won over by CHRONEXT's ambitions," says Briggs of his new role. "I'm looking forward to helping CHRONEXT with market expansions, new partnerships and mergers that will further drive the company's growth." Briggs currently serves on the boards of Petco, Afterpay and Etsy.

Chronext is also excited about the addition, "I am honored to welcome Gary Briggs and his unique digital and e-commerce experience to our company," Jacob Fonnesbech Aqraou, who chairs the board of directors, said of the new addition.

Founded in 2013 by Philipp Man and Ludwig Wurlitzer, Chronext offers luxury watches through its platform and today employs 120 people. The start-up is based in Zug, Switzerland, and Cologne, Germany.
