Vienna - The Austrian startup notarity is a European platform for online notarization services. The company is now also offering its services in Germany. Customers can use the platform to have notarizations carried out securely, in compliance with data protection regulations and completely digitally.

The notarial deed is a tried and tested method of securing private and business agreements and keeping documents safe. Notarity has fully digitized this process and enables notaries and clients to perform notarizations for any type of document online. This applies to company founders, banks, real estate companies as well as private individuals. Security and data protection have top priority. Since its foundation in 2021, notarity has already notarized more than 10,000 documents in accordance with European standards. The company has not only won over numerous customers, but also investors. In a recently completed financing round, the startup secured millions in investment.

Notarizations are valid due to bilateral agreement

The use of notarity in Germany is made possible by a bilateral agreement between Germany and Austria, which simplifies cross-border legal transactions. According to this agreement, notarized documents are valid in both countries without additional formalities such as an apostille. The Higher Regional Court (OLG) of Celle has also confirmed in a ruling that documents notarized online in Austria are equivalent to German notarizations.

The services offered by notarity in Germany include the notarization of all types of documents. Whether it is the notarization of a signature on a commercial register application, a power of attorney or an affidavit, the process is always fast, efficient, unbureaucratic, secure and completely digital. Appointments can be booked at short notice (10 minutes before the appointment) and at flexible times (weekdays between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.) via notarity. All you need to do before the appointment is complete the online verification process, during which an electronic signature is created. During the video conference with a notary, the documents are signed digitally. After notarization, the certified documents are available for download or, if desired, in written form. These can be used worldwide and, if required, notarity can also take care of creating an apostille.

The German market is very much dominated by bureaucracy and the lengthy processes associated with it. The legislation in Austria, on the other hand, is very progressive and digitalization-friendly in this area.

Jakobus Schuster, CEO notarity

CEO Jakobus Schuster sees great potential for the digitalization of the notarization process in Germany. The company is pleased to now be able to assist German companies and private individuals with notarial acts and speed up notarizations in any form. This makes the process digital, fast and efficient for German citizens.
