AM Ventures launches 100 million euro fund

The venture capitalist plans to further expand its portfolio and invest in 3D printing applications.
Munich-based AM Ventures has launched a €100 million fund focused on industrial 3D printing applications. Investors include family offices, asset managers, mid-sized companies, international corporations, as well as founders previously backed by AM Ventures.
"The fact that portfolio company founders are now investing in our fund is a great confirmation of our extraordinary efforts," says Johann Oberhofer, co-founder and and managing partner of AM Ventures. AM Ventures' portfolio currently includes 17 companies in six countries. These include Headmade Materials, LightForce Orthodontics, Lithoz, DyeMansion, 3Yourmind and Conflux Technology. The new fund is intended to increase the size of this portfolio.
"The additive manufacturing industry has seen steady and strong growth over the past decade," says Arno Held, co-founder and managing partner. He said he believes startups play a key role in the development of 3D technology. The technologies could help industrial goods to be produced more sustainably.
